I attend a lot of training and get to see a lot of student gear lists. I have some thoughts on these lists for all the instructors out there. The ideas here apply regardless of what you are teaching, from a close-quarters gunfighting course to a photography seminar to a sushi-rolling class. Short story: keep your student gear lists updated, simple, and clear.
VIDEO: 10-Round Skill Check – The Gunsite 250 Drill
The Gunsite 250 Drill is a difficult drill with demanding time standards. It only requires 10-rounds, though, and is a great, low-round-count drill that will quickly assess your skills.

This review is a continuation of our NPE carry series, and our first review of a deep-concealment holster. Over the past several months I have worked with a number of NPE carry holsters. This review will cover the infinitely popular and commonly recommended Desantis Super Fly pocket holster.
VIDEO: NPE Carry – The Kel-Tec P32 Deep Concealment Pistol
I recently decided to do a deep-dive into non-permissive environment (NPE) carry. This is the world of hideout guns and backup guns and pocket carry and ankle holsters that I know thing about. I recently realized that this is an area of firearms/shooting that I want to know more about. A Look Back at 2023 and 2024 Goals
Twenty twenty-three was a good year for me. This coming year should be a good one, as well. Let’s take a look at what I accomplished in 2023, and look ahead to my 2024 goals. I like sharing these goals with you to help keep myself on track.

VIDEO: How to Shim a Latch, aka The “Credit Card Trick”
A few years ago I wrote an article demonstrating how to shim a latch and protect your lock from same. This is a topic that I always felt was inadequately covered in writing and photos alone. So, I put together this quick video on how to shim a latch, also known as the ol’ credit card trick.

This can be an intimidating world to get into. There is a lot of paperwork, a lot of potential pitfalls, and some serious penalties if you screw up. The easiest way seemed to be buying a suppressor online with SilencerCentral.com.

I hope you enjoy this Nighthawk 1911 long term review!
Randall’s Field Survival vs Basic Survival at Pathfinder School
Having attended both courses this year, I am sometimes asked to compare Randall’s Field Survival vs Basic Survival at Pathfinder School. If a handful of people that I regularly interact with are asking this, a few of you must be wondering it, too, so I thought I’d share my thoughts. Both were GREAT courses and this isn’t to find a “better” one, just to compare and contrast the differences for anyone deciding between the two.
