It has been a long time since I have reviewed a flashlight! I’m a little out of practice but I’m going to give it a shot on what I consider to be one of the classic AAA-powered lights, the Streamlight Microstream.
WML Review: Streamlight TL-Racker
As you guys may or may not know, this year is sort of the “year of the shotgun” for me. I’ve spent an entire month doing daily dry practice with my shotty, and this month (June) will see me repeat that. I’ve read two books about shotgun employment, and am about to start a third. Today I am going to review the biggest improvement made to my shotgun in a long time: the Streamlight TL-Racker WML.
Fenix LD12 Follow Up: Customer Support
I have been a little slow on the flashlight reviews lately. This is for a couple reasons. I’ve reviewed most of the ones that are worth reviewing in my price and general usefulness ranges. Secondly, I found one that I really, really love and I don’t really want to put it in a drawer to review something else. That light: the Fenix LD12 (2017 Edition).
EDC Part 0: The Individual “Uniform”
One of the things I miss most about my brief time in the military is wearing a uniform. I don’t mean getting all spiffed up in dress blues or anything like that, and I certainly don’t mean being recognized as a military member. Much more simply, I just miss never having to think about what to wear to work. Today I’m going to talk about something that is near and dear to my heart: clothing as EDC, and creating your own individual “uniform.”
The Spyderco Sharpmaker
Welcome back to another short little post between regular posts. This time I’m talking about the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker sharpening system. This gadget has literally changed my life as far as knives are concerned.
EDC Flashlight Review: NiteCore MT1A
This month’s flashlight is the NiteCore MT1A EDC flashlight. The MT1A is a single-AA light at a mid-range price point. Overall it seems like a well-built light, but one with a few design strikes against it. Let’s take a look at its features.
Some Thoughts on Asolo Boots
A reader recently wrote in asking for a review of Asolo boots. I have a fairly rich history with Asolo boots and I would love to talk about them. A couple disclaimer notes before I begin…
MXG Gear Knife Clips
This is just a quick, in-between-posts post about a gadget that I really dig. I recently changed my EDC knife to a Spyderco Para Military 2. As soon as I got it I immediately disliked the clip. It was shiny, and very high-riding. Fortunately, the PM2 is one of the most popular EDC knives on the market, so there were plenty of replacement options. This led me to MXG Gear.
EDC Flashlight Review: EAGTAC D25A Mark II Clicky
Another month, another flashlight. Today’s light is the EAGTAC D25A Mark II Clicky (I’m told “EAGTAC” is short for “Eagle Tactical”). I’ll tell you right up front, this is not the light for me. That said, it has some real cool features and might be the light for you. I really wanted to make this light work because for every feature it’s missing, something else about it is really cool.
My Special Becker BK10 & Sagewood Sheath
The Becker BK-10 “Crewman” is a very common survival/bushcraft knife and there’s nothing special about most of them. I’m sure I’m the one-millionth person to write a blog post about the Becker BK-10, however, mine is a little special. That’s partially why I’m going to write this article; the other part is just because I want to.
