Streamlight TLR RM-2 Long Gun Light

As I wrote recently, I am a big fan of the Streamlight TLR-1 weapon-mounted light. Many of Streamlight’s successive WLMs have held little appeal for me, trending generally smaller¬† and intended for EDC handguns. That’s not universally true, but there hasn’t been much in Streamlight’s line that has really excited me until recently. Earlier this year Streamlight introduced a crop of new lights including TLR RM2.

The Venerable Streamlight TLR-1

If you go looking for a holster to accommodate a weapon-mounted light, there are two lights you will see repeated over and over again: the Surefire X300 and the Streamlight TLR-1. I own several Streamlight TLR-1s and have used them across many different applications. If you’re looking for a do-it-all light I don’t think you could go wrong with this one.

WML Review: Streamlight TL-Racker

As you guys may or may not know, this year is sort of the “year of the shotgun” for me. I’ve spent an entire month doing daily dry practice with my shotty, and this month (June) will see me repeat that. I’ve read two books about shotgun employment, and am about to start a third. Today I am going to review the biggest improvement made to my shotgun in a long time: the Streamlight TL-Racker WML.

Fenix LD12 Follow Up: Customer Support

I have been a little slow on the flashlight reviews lately. This is for a couple reasons. I’ve reviewed most of the ones that are worth reviewing in my price and general usefulness ranges. Secondly, I found one that I really, really love and I don’t really want to put it in a drawer to review something else. That light: the Fenix LD12 (2017 Edition).

Getting Friends and Family (Slightly) More Prepared

As I mentioned in my article on building rapport with your neighbors, I have recently become interested in making those around me – especially my friends and family – better prepared. After this article they’ll only be slightly better prepared, but that’s a heck of a lot better than nothing. And maybe it’s the start of something bigger…

EDC Flashlight Review: EAGTAC D25A Mark II Clicky

Another month, another flashlight. Today’s light is the EAGTAC D25A Mark II Clicky (I’m told “EAGTAC” is short for “Eagle Tactical”). I’ll tell you right up front, this is not the light for me. That said, it has some real cool features and might be the light for you. I really wanted to make this light work because for every feature it’s missing, something else about it is really cool.¬†

EDC Flashlight Review: Fenix LD12 (2017 Edition)

It’s time for another flashlight review! Today I’m going to be talking about the Fenix LD12 (2017 Edition). I may try the current edition at some point, but I’m really liking this one. This light comes probably as close as any to the ThruNite Archer that started this whole series. Actually, I take that back; it’s better than the ThruNite. I’ve been carrying it for a month now, and it’s the light that makes me want to stop right here and not try anything else. It’s pretty awesome.

EDC Flashlight Review: StreamLight Protac 1L-1AA

OK, I swear this is not a flashlight review site. But flashlights are where my head is these days, and overall that’s probably a pretty good insight into the future ebb and flow of this site. I tend to get fixate on something for a while, go down a huge rabbit hole, but I promise, I’ll come back out of it. Today I’m looking at a competitor to the ThruNite Archer 1A V3 I reviewed a couple weeks ago: the Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA.
